was very excited about the new museum by sanaa/nishisawa. actually from this distance the building reads really well, especially when it's 75-degrees and sunny. up close though, the details are sub-par, and the stainless steel mesh should drop lower to create a dialog with street level.

An investigation of wave flows around governor's island using hair dynamics in maya.... wave patterns surrounding governor's island in new york were extracted and extended over the island. gravity was altered to produce a negative, neutral, and positive "topography". Other factors such as turbulence were altered to vary the fluctuations of the extended waveforms. The result was a field of complex undulations that may be used to inform the site of the retreat project.

a diagram showing the programmatic spaces lofted to produce a single object. the size of the form indicates the number of tags a program holds (ie. the fatter the section, the more descriptive tags the program contains. The positioning is derived from the location on the word cloud, thus, solids which are higher in this perspective indicate more spiritual programs; solids that stretch to the left or right indicate a higher level of activity. The tubes indicate the trajectory of a simulated person throughout one day.
