i love my mac

so everyone's talking about blogging nowadays to i figured i'd better also jump of the bandwagon, although i already web-master the veuda.com site. so, to define blog.veuda.com, it is a page of casual messages, unsolicited comments, and unsubstantiated statements.

soliciting more real estate

OK guys, I know that this blog is titled "i love my mac", and to tell you the truth, I really do, but I'm also a believer in meritocracy... after months of searching and researching, I've decided to use some of the proceeds from this summer to invest in a new monitor to suppliment the 15 inches on my MacBook Pro... and yes, I got a Dell [monitor].

Well, basically by the end of last semester I started feeling that there was simply not enough space to run multiple programs (broswer+rhino+photoshop+itunes+googletalk) with the 1440x900 screen on my MBP, so I've been tingling with the idea of buying a larger screen and work dual-screen mode.

Then summer came and I've been going crazy researching and investing in securities. Eventually it was a routine inconvenience having to switch between the HSBC trading screen, webpages of information, online newspapers, calculator, and Excel. I think the new screen would increase efficiency in my trades and research, and I'll be able to execute much faster if it happens to be a critical trading day.

So why the rush? Here's the story: I was at Wharton two days ago and happened to actually see one of the monitor models in the main hall. I've been to Besy Buy looking through the Samsung monitors, but seeing the Dell in person I was convinced, and went online to purchase one immediately. I ordered the Dell 2007WFP, and it's actually a pretty good deal because I've ordered a refurbished product, which cuts $100 from the list price of $399. The screen is 20" and has a 1680x1050 resolution, which would be small enough on my desk, while large enough to run rhino models in comfortably.

Wow, I'm really looking forward to getting my new monitor. I've never been excited about a Dell all my life.
